every person has a dream, every dream has its beginning, and every beginning leads to a story that is just waiting to be told. every day, dreams are made and broken, they're created from the wildest of ideas and crushed by the most belittling means. but at royalton university in providence, rhode island, the dreams live on. royalton is a crossroads for those whom are looking to reach for the stars and fill their lives with success. fresh out of high school, these students are making their marks and working hard to make something of their lives. sounds peachy keen, doesn't it?
well, everything at royalton isn't as chalked up and fairytaled as its rumoured to be, and its starting to spread amongst the students. money is disappearing from the university's budget, which is causing a bunch of uneasy feelings within the confines of the staff. someone leaked the information to students and its spread throughout all of the major departments, leaking to those who are more concerned than others. drastic actions will have to be taken within the next year to bring the budget back to its usual high standards. but that means that some are going to have to suffer for others to prevail. dreams will be crushed.
there are those who are sure their time at royalton will be cut short because of the budget and its loss of money. all of the scholarship students are concerned, for living on the edge of not knowing whether they'll be able to stay at the school through the week is adding to the stress level. the university that once seemed to be place where dreams could thrive and survive is now a place of panic and fear that its students won't be able to be the people they want to be.
everything just seems to be going downhill for these dreamers. their educations are in jeopardy, their lives are even more stressful, and everything's not what it used to be. little do they know that there have been generous donations from previous alumni and prestigious corportations in the providence area, so these kids aren't going anywhere. but no one's said anything to them about that just yet. nor has anyone mentioned that something bigger may be in the works. all they know is that what they thought was supposed to be a life-changing era for them is just a little too traumatic for them.
it seems we're all just holding out for a hero, a white knight to come and save the day.
